  • The textbook allows the students to explore the dynamic geological processes at work on Earth. It is divided into ten chapters that introduce and examine the basic principles and concepts of the Earth system
  • Each chapter uses the socratic approach that ask series of questions leading to learning the concepts, principles, and analogy that will stimulate critical thinking and draw out ideas and underlying presumptions
  • A concept map is found at the end of each chapter to recap connections and relationships among important concepts
  • All competencies suggested by the DepEd in the published guidelines for Science Literacy were discussed, additional competencies were included for completeness, greater coherence and smoother flow of ideas
